about

“Eat or Die” marks the first official full length by Future Orients. The album name does not come from any particular story or experience. Instead, “Eat or Die” simply comes from the band’s collective appreciation for the feelings associated with the phrase. On one hand, it reflects the basic trifles in everyday life, but also considers the gravity of life and death itself. The two ideas take into account questions of life’s most natural struggles, but with an ever present sense of irony.

The album’s neat and succinct nature puts the band member’s chemistry on full display. The nine songs serve as a reflection of the work from the band’s earliest days up until the moments just before recording. While “Running” comes from the earliest stages of the band’s history, “Haze” came to fruition right before their time in the studio. The difference in styles highlights the band’s unceasing growth and development and continuous drive to explore. Future Orients favors strong melodies and smooth progressions, but the music never becomes conventional. They instead find their own unexplored territory to straddle the edges of fierce and strange.

With their debut full length, Future Orients have created a youthful and genuine piece. So as for whether its really time to eat or time to die, this band couldn’t care less.

Track Name: Running
We are running like foals.
We are running like foals.
You are hiding in the back of me.
I’m losing my way.

Come back to me. X4

I want you to know.
Like how it shows.
The higher you up.
Lonelier you are.
Track Name: Motto
Looking for the key
Lock the body away
It’s not the time
To set perception free

I’ve found the truth
But I’m missing the way
So how do you feel?
The ego inside you is going to betray.
Track Name: Lost
The clouds are dropping into the ocean
My heart has fallen apart
But I still cannot feel
The smoke is spilling out of the window
Sunlight goes into my eyes
But I still cannot feel

The underground is yelling
People around are rushing
But I still cannot feel
My vision has lost its color
And time is ticking away
But I still cannot feel

I’m deceived by my desire
For the feelings I don’t care
If I can hide……But I’ve never tried
Track Name: Deafness
I know it’s not my fault
But I fall down to a deep hole
I want to see and hear you
But all around is just a black hole

I want to see and hear you x4

I want to see you see you see you see you
I want to hear you hear you hear you hear you x2
Track Name: Idol
I don't know how to forgive, how to forgive, how to forgive, how to
See that you are reaching the top, reaching the top, reaching the top of
The world I should’ve understood, understood, understood, but
I will try my best try my best try my best to break through

I know you are trying x2

I know you stand on my way x3
I know you are there for me

I don’t know how to forgive, how to forgive, how to forgive, how to
I don’t know how to forget, how to forget, how to forget, how to

I know you are trying x2

I know you stand on my way x3
I know you are there for me

I know you stand on my way x3
I know you are there for me
I know you stand on my way x3
I know you stand on the top but I will try my best to break through

I know you stand on my way x3
I know you are there for me
Track Name: Cave
I’m sitting here waiting for the sun.
Till the day I feel that I won’t.
Now I know I’m in your cave.
Only to see your shadow in the mist.

So many times I’m running in fear.
But you hold me back to light my fire.
So many times I’m running in fear.
I’m not Prometheus and have no holy fire.

Help me, help me out of way.
Hear me, hear me. X2
Track Name: Haze
We are all the same in the broken time
They cut down my head, I don’t even feel the pain
We are trapped in the heavy haze
In the narrow dark maze, that lead’s down to another world
Show me your hands tell me I was wrong
They cut down my tongue, I don't even feel the pain
We walk through the chaotic town
You open the door and find a way to another world

You open the door
And find a way to
They cut my tongue
I don’t even feel the pain
